I vaguely remember being advised to either do something with or add a .htaccess file when starting up the forum (unless it's always been there). Just wanted to know a bit more. It has various things in it and I'd like to know what is standard in it. And if so what does it do exactly please? Also - if I wanted to add a deny/allow rule and whitelist an IP address, would a VPN dedicated static IP address be ok or would that cause issues? (Eg for a new htaccess within the /install folder.
